Behind Pat Brown’s pleasant personality and cheerful smile is the razor-sharp mind of a scientist and researcher. The Napa, Calif. native first came to Connecticut in 1988 with her then-husband, Thomas, when he was recruited to join the faculty at Yale University.
Pat’s first foray into higher education training began at San Jose State University, where she majored in psychology and business administration.
“I think having majored in psych was a turning point in my life,” recalls Pat.
Lori Mansur ‘Born to Be a Nurse’

After graduating high school in 1996, Lori Mansur tried a few different jobs, but it wasn’t until 2004 that she found her calling. After taking a job as a medical assistant in a pediatric office in New Haven, Lori realized that was where she wanted to focus her career.
“From the start, I knew I had to be a nurse and knew that I could make an impact,” says Lori. “I started taking the prerequisites I needed for nursing school while working part-time.”
